General Class Information
Unless otherwise stated, all classes are taught in the ASAP Photo & Camera classroom from 7:00PM to 9:00PM. When arriving on the night of a class, we ask that all participants park in the back of the building and enter through the Aperture Studio entrance.

LEVEL I COURSES
Intro to Digital SLR Photography
(Three classes/6 hrs) $60/ person
This is the first step in learning how to take better pictures with your SLR camera. This class will teach you the fundamentals of exposure and composition including:
Understanding Aperture, Shutter Speed, ISO and Exposure; Metering Basics, Composition Techniques, and Camera Controls & Settings (general overview).
How to Take Better Pictures
(One class/2 hrs) $35/ person
This is our most basic class and is a good choice for those who want to "point and shoot" with better results. It provides information, examples and practical tips and techniques on how to improve your images--regardless of what type of camera you have or your subject matter. Remember, your camera is the tool--YOU are the photographer.
LEVEL II COURSES
Intermediate Photography
(Three classes/6 hrs) $75/ person
The intermediate course is a follow-up to our introductory level classes. We take a few of the most popular and challenging photographic topics and help you develop better skills in those areas. (One class/2 hrs) $50/per person This course is a follow-up to our introductory level classes with a specific focus on taking better portraits.
A wide sampling of concepts will be covered, including: On- and off-camera flash, multiple flash, choosing the correct lens and setting for different situations & conditions, understanding the digital histogram, composing your image, and close-up/macro photography basics.
Portrait Techniques
Some of the concepts covered in this class focus on: Lens selection, exposure & metering, using external flash, controlling light, and composition.
Outdoor & Nature Photography
(One class/2 hrs) $50/ person
This course gives an overview of how to capture effective images in nature, such as landscape, scenic, wildlife and small critters.
Some of the concepts covered in this workshop include: Choosing your subject, lens selection, elements of composition, depth of field, working with the light, and working your subject in a variety of outdoor situations.
LEVEL III COURSES
Advanced Lighting
(Four classes/8 hrs) $175/ person
This course is designed for those wishing to shoot professionally or at an advanced level. We concentrate on "Controlling Light" and "Designing" photographs.
You will practice and develop skills in the following areas: Principles of light, proper distribution and modification of light for your subject, use of lighting ratios, posing principles, designing the photograph, and ensuring professional quality work.
Intro to Macro Photography Seminar
(Three classes/6 hrs) $100/ person
This introductory course is designed for those interested in learning how to get in close on their subjects (flowers, bugs, butterflies, or any subject where the details are important to the image desired). It is designed to give you the skills necessary to produce outstanding macro shots of many different subjects.
Some of the concepts covered in this workshop include: Defining your subject, how to approach and get close to your subject; proper exposure & metering techniques; accessories for macro photography, controlling the light, and working on depth of field control and developing strong compositions.
